First off, a bit about myself: I am a 30-year-old Asian woman with olive skin tone. I have extremely oily skin and acne breakouts have always been a problem for me. I do my due-diligence of cleaning my face at least twice a day. I do regular exercises and control my diet. However, none of these things seem to work and I continue to get acne breakouts from time to time.
I am exhausted from continuously trying to control my facial oils and decided to change things up a bit. Instead of trying to prevent acne breakouts, I decided to focus on quick methods of getting rid of them when they appear. I have a limited budget so I knew the drugstore would be a good place to start. After doing a quick research online, I decided to grab a bottle of OXY Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment the next time I went to the drugstore.
I am so glad I did and in my opinion, this is probably the best drugstore acne treatment for oily skin.
In this post i will go over what this product is about, how to use this product and show you my results after using this product for just 3 days.
What is the OXY Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment?
The OXY Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment is a cream-like facial application that helps to reduce redness after acne breakouts. It is formulated with OXY’s unique bio-function complex and contains moisturizing SymCalmin for soothing the skin. SymCalmin is a 5% solution of a synthetic avenanthramide that is used as an anti-irritant. It also has antihistamine properties.
The product contains 5% Benzoyl Peroxide to kill acne bacteria and is the main ingredient that prevents additional breakouts while removing acne bacteria from your skin so that it can heal faster. The solution is designed to penetrate deep into your pores and unclogs them, making them breathable so that bacteria can’t form. The solution also helps to absorb oil.
It has a small baking-soda like scent when first applied. However, the scent goes away after the solution dries. It doesn’t remove acne scars and didn’t work for me for removing blackheads.
The one I used was the 28g tube with an applicator tip, which was quite convenient. This product can be used with moisture after it dries. It should not be worn under makeup.
The solution itself doesn’t feel like a cream but more like a diluted mixture of baking soda and water. All you need is a thin layer over your acne spots and it should do the trick.
The applicator tip that comes with the packaging is quite convenient and good for spot treatments!

Inactive ingredients: Anhydrous Citric Acid, Butylene Glycol, Carbomer Homopolymer, Diazolidynl Urea, Dimeticone, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Edetate Disodium, Fragrance, Glycerin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Lauryl Methacylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, PEG/PPG-4/12 Dimethicone, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Propylene Glycol, Purified Water, Silica, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide and Xanthan Gum.
How To Use:
Caution: if you’re using this for the first time, test on a small area of your skin for 3 days. Stop using and consult a health care professional if any allergic reaction occurs.
- Clean skin thoroughly.
- Apply on acne affected area (use a thin layer)
- Repeat above steps up to 3 times daily. Reduce the frequency of application if dryness or peeling occurs.
Results:
When first applied, you will feel a soothing cool sensation on your skin. That is how you know the product is working. The sensation goes away after the product dries.
I cleaned my face before each application and the photos below show the results of using the OXY Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment before and after day 1, day 2 and day 3. Note that I went to sleep right after each application and used only a thin layer of solution each time.
Before Application
I randomly selected an acne for this test. This one was chosen as it was freshly formed. The photo was taken before applying the OXY Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment.

After Day 1
After day 1, the pimple hasn’t gone away but as you can see in the photo below, the swelling and redness has disappeared. It also doesn’t feel itchy. It does look like some pus is forming but not as much as my other acne spots without the treatment.
Day 1: The redness has been reduced and it doesn’t feel itchy anymore. The forming of pus is less than my usual experience.
After Day 2
After day 2, the pus is gone and the acne looks much smaller and dried out. There is still some redness but the acne spot is clearly not as bludging as before.
Day 2: No more pus and the acne has dried out. This is a good sign.
After Day 3
After day 3, the break in the skin is healing, the acne has completely died down and the bump is gone. It’s going to take some more time for the skin to heal but I can easily cover this up with some makeup in the meantime.
Day 3: The skin is beginning to heal and the acne spot has completely died down. No more bulging or itchiness.
Conclusion
The OXY Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment worked well on my oily and acne-prone skin. The itchiness went away almost immediately after treatment was applied. The cream provides a cool and soothing sensation on the skin. The treatment worked fast and quickly dried out my acne after using it for just 3 days. I recommend this product to others.
